Well it seems our readers are enjoying us, and so too are the artistic community. We have just been awarded the Silver Award for Editorial Art by Spectrum, a much-respected organisation that recognises excellence in the fantastic arts. The award was given to the cover illustration, 'Singer', based on a short story I wrote about a woman who is half-sewing machine. The illustration was done by the incredibly talented Kurt Huggins and Zelda Devon.

We've also been tentatively offered a stall at the PENcil Literary Festival, although the details are yet to be confirmed. PENcil is a festival for young writers and students wanting to enter the publishing world! We will be there to give information on publishing, magazines, and getting your work published. All our readers are welcome to come and say hi, and meet the team in person.

This is fantastic news because it means Dog Horn Publishing is getting the recognition it deserves from awarding bodies and the publishing/writing establishment. This is peer recognition, which is always important in validating what we do. Luckily, we've also had a very dedicated and passionate following, which has always helped too.

Things are certainly heating up, and we hope this is the start of the big Dog Horn Future we've all had in mind for a long time!
